Our Ethical StandardsCherie & Co. is committed to conducting business with integrity and in compliance with the letter and spirit of the law. We operate in a world where laws and other standards that govern business conduct are more complex and demanding than ever.
We recognize that breaking them could have very serious consequences for ourselves and our employees.
The Standards of Business Conduct (“the Standards”) reflect the fundamental principles that govern our ethical and legal obligations. It describes, summarises and supplements policies, some of which have been in place for years.
We have organized the Standards into four categories:
What they don’t coverNo policy manual, however detailed, can anticipate all of the situations and challenges faced at work. The Standards are not intended to be an exhaustive description of policies or the law. In the UK we operate in accordance with our Business Management Systems Manual (“BMS Manual”) and, where relevant, the RICS Rules of Conduct (“RICS Rules”). Our staff are required to abide by our Employee Handbook (“Handbook”).
Global StandardsThe Standards apply to personnel, board members and other people acting on the company’s behalf. Everyone at Cherie & Co. has a responsibility to understand and practice these policies. Anyone who engages vendors, consultants or temporaries is responsible for monitoring their work to ensure they act in a manner consistent with the Standards.
Cherie & Co. is a national company so rules governing conduct will vary from region to region.
The Employee CommitmentEvery Cherie & Co. employee is responsible for their own business conduct. The Standards represent an absolute commitment to doing the right thing. By being part of Cherie & Co. employees & partners make a commitment to knowing and following the laws that apply to their job. If they fail to follow the Standards, they put themselves, their Office and Cherie & Co at risk. They also risk disciplinary action that could culminate in dismissal or legal action.
Knowing when and how to speak up and raise questions is of vital importance.
